TAMACAN: EU-wide approval for hemp CBD veterinary preparations for dogs
HEROSAN healthcare, the market leader in insect protein-based CBD products for animals and pet food, releases new veterinary preparations under the TAMACAN brand, the first products approved in the EU for dogs, in various package sizes and concentrations.
This makes HEROSAN the first company on the market to guarantee consistent safety and quality in all package sizes and high concentrations with its CBD preparations for dogs. The application of TAMACAN refers to chronic pain, postoperative convalescence and palliative care.
The new products do not contain any fillers or other flavor enhancers, are purely plant-based and produced in a regionally sustainable manner in the organic cultivated hemp glasshouse production of HEROSAN healthcare in Styria (Austria).
With this, the company was the first in Europe to meet one of the most frequently expressed customer requests: “Animal owners and customers have repeatedly approached us about why CBD oils have extremely strange declarations or why there are no intake recommendations and package inserts for CBD products for animals. Thus, the path of an EU-wide approval as a “veterinary preparation” was a clear choice for us, because only in this way it is possible to meet customer requirements,” the CEOs of HEROSAN healthcare GmbH explain their efforts to obtain approval.
Clarity on the CBD issue
The president of the Austrian Chamber of Veterinarians, Mag. Kurt Frühwirth, said in his welcoming remarks at the Round Table (meeting of industry, authorities and veterinarians) in November 2019: “We want to gain clarity for our veterinarians and develop solution proposals on the CBD issue.”
Now we have that clarity. TAMACAN offers safety in CBD products for dogs, from analysis to studies with the TAMACAN products. There is now an opportunity to provide an herbal hemp alternative with CBD for chronic pain, joint problems, post-surgical convalescence and palliative care. The positive thing about it is that the organism of the animals is protected. CBD does not come with any possible side effects like commercial drugs.
