Leipziger Tierärztekongress continues on the road to success
Full halls, lively activity in the exhibition aisles, highly satisfied exhibitors, congress participants and speakers – this is how the 11th edition of the Leipziger Tierärztekongresses can be summarized. 5,600 veterinarians, veterinary technicians and students attended the mammoth event July 7-9. The vetexpo featured 282 exhibitors.
Over the course of three days, the 11th Leipziger Tierärztekongress highlighted numerous specialist veterinary topics in more than 500 lectures and courses. Alongside trends in veterinary professional practice and the digitalization of the industry, the focus was also on the link between animal health and human health. “The variety and broad diversity of the lecture events and the high-caliber congress program make the Veterinary Congress unique. Nowhere else are so many colleagues from so many disciplines coming together,” sums up congress president Prof. Dr. Uwe Truyen. “In addition to traditional continuing education, we were able to generate momentum this year towards professional ethics and health policy as well.”
In light of the Corona pandemic, the need for and importance of the One Health approach to human and veterinary medicine was emphasized across the board.
Trade fair vetexpo on course for growth
“Looking back on a very successful 11th Leipziger Tierärztekongress with trade fair vetexpo. This shows us also the extremely high exhibitor satisfaction with extended exhibition space and a runtime extension by one day,” says the Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, Martin Buhl-Wagner.
In addition to well-known market leaders and 17 international exhibitors, eight young companies were represented for the first time in the newly established start-up area. In addition, the vetjobs24 Career Corner job fair offered the opportunity to talk to 36 employers from the veterinary field, make personal contacts and exchange experiences. Daily workshops on topics such as job application training or career re-entry provided additional valuable impetus.
The special show on practice furnishings presented inspiration for visually appealing and functional furnishings in one’s own practice or clinic. On basis of walk-in rooms and by a virtual tour, furnishing concepts and examples for the registration and waiting area or the treatment room were presented.
High satisfaction of exhibitors
On a fully booked area 282 companies from 17 countries presented their products and services around pharmaceuticals, medical technology, modern practice equipment, animal nutrition or EDP services. More than 95 percent of exhibitors plan to be present at vetexpo again in 2024 and recommend the event to others.
HEROSAN Healthcare GmbH from Austria was among this year’s new exhibitors and was highly satisfied with its premiere. “Excellent response, great discussions, lots of curiosity about our products – our premiere at Leipziger Tierärztekongress was a complete success! As a young company, we found perfect conditions in Leipzig to present our portfolio to the German market. We were able to acquire many new customers at our booth – including a number of practice founders.“, the two CEOs Cornelia Pint and Daniel Taurer summarize.
